PEL Organization – Qamishlo
PEL, in cooperation with the Transportation Office and the Municipality of Qamishlo, launched the “Tawasl” initiative; To rehabilitate public transport bus stops in the neighborhoods of Qamishlo.
The initiative includes the rehabilitation of 20 public transport stops, starting from Kanat Alswes neighborhood, passing through the central market, and ending with Al-Hilalia neighborhood.
The rehabilitation includes providing of a cement floor, seats, and installation of side panels as a platform for posters, consisting of maps showing the location of the bus stop and a guide to the bus route in the city, and others raising awareness about diseases, preserving public facilities, and introducing official events and holidays for the components of the region.
In addition, buses stops will be provided with solar panels and batteries; For lighting at night, in addition to providing sockets for charging phones.
Tawasl initiative, which is one of the activities of “Qamish” project, aims to enhance the municipality’s capabilities to respond to the needs of the local community and facilitate access and transportation.
