KANÎ Project

PEL Organization seeks, through the project, to play an important role in supporting and advocating the displaced, and promoting housing, land and property rights (HLP), by launching activities and projects that shed light on the suffering of the displaced regarding the confiscation of their real estate and property by the factions supported by the occupation authority. KANI project comes to emphasize the fact that people have been displaced and left their homes, lands and properties against their will. Beside seeking to monitor and document the existing violations against the people of Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain, Afrin and Girê Spî / Tell Abyad, document them and submit them to the competent authorities, in order to reach the possibility of returning homes, lands and properties to their original owners.

PEL works to access housing, land and property data, collect information about their real owners and document them in accordance with legal tools and procedures and inform the relevant authorities of this in general, which entails encouraging the cessation of seizures, sales, assignments and leases, and the provision of voluntary return in safety and dignity for the displaced, and their full right without any condition in returning their property.

KANI aims, through a set of activities and events, including collecting testimonies and narrative stories of samples from the displaced people of Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain, Afrin and Girê Spî / Tell Abyad, since January 1, 2022, with the aim of establishing their rights to housing, land and property, and documenting them in sound ways according to standards and submitting it to the relevant authorities and international forums. The project is valid until December 31, 2023.
